Endangered species of Kazakhstan

This work illustrates two species from the Red Book of Kazakhstan – a publication of lists of rare and endangered species of plants and animals in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The posters were made in response to goal 15 (Life on Land), and my aim is to raise awareness, since those animals, while iconic in my home country are not widely recognised elsewhere.

The species on the Red List are mostly threatened by habitat loss through pervasive human activities and illegal trade. One of the targets to create action to protect and restore life on land is to take urgent action to end poaching and trafficking of protected species and reduce the degradation of natural habitats, halt the loss of biodiversity. There is also a need to take measures to end the demand for illegally traded wildlife and wildlife products.
