Everyday Changes

This diptych explores sustainability on a household level, focusing on the mundane, utilitarian and commonplace objects that are associated with daily ritual. In our contemporary age, there is a growing awareness that, with climate change causing temperatures to soar and wildfires engulfing expanses of natural beauty, rainwater is becoming an increasingly scarce resource in certain areas and that the water consumption at a household level is increasing in our avant-garde hedonistic age.

This artwork discloses that one does to have to take extreme measures or be an influential figure-head to help combat climate change; even small household changes can make a difference, and sustainability on a domestic level is something we should all strive for, as ignorance has become no longer an option.
